ACG'S MAIN OBJECTIVES

bullet point Support industry-wide initiatives to raise the   public perception of the value of intellectual   property (IP) and the harm caused by IP crime

bullet point Continue to campaign for more resources for   law enforcement, and for more understanding of   the issues from local and national government

bullet point Ensure that the recommendations from the   Gowers IP Review continue to be implemented   by government during 2009-10


bullet point Play a leading rôle in Government initiatives to   achieve national co-ordination of IPR   enforcement (e.g. IP Crime Group)


bullet point Further develop intelligence-sharing and collaborative actions, e.g. for IP   Crime Strategy and for ACG's own campaigns

bullet point Monitor effect of amendment to Enterprise Act Part 9

bullet point Encourage more effective use of Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA)   against counterfeiters

bullet point Support and promote ACG members' concerns via the media and good   relations with government and law enforcement

bullet point Continue to develop ACG Roadshows, training days and enforcement   liaison generally

bullet point Provide an effective and responsive forum for members to discuss   matters of common interest

bullet point Further strengthen co-operation and strategies with partner   organisations, both here and abroad

bullet point Assist, promote and contribute to conferences, seminars, lectures,   symposia, trade fairs, road shows and exhibitions which will (directly or   indirectly) benefit ACG and its members


bullet point Continue to develop membership services e.g. website, information   database, conferences, news updates
