Officers from Tilbury Port were joined by global brands on Wednesday at a training day arranged by the Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG).
It was a busy day for the port as brands arrived from; SKY, SanDisk, P&G, Unilever, Cath Kidston, Apple and many more. The training was to raise awareness of the counterfeit goods and how to spot them.
Border Force Officers from Tilbury, London Gateway and Harwich attended the event, along with Trading Standards officers from Thurrock. They chatted to brand protection experts throughout the day and enjoyed comparing genuine and fake goods.
“It was a great event and a brilliant opportunity to be able to speak to so many officers. We really do appreciate the seizures of counterfeit goods that Tilbury have made this year. The work they do really does help disrupt the trade in fake goods and stops potentially dangerous goods reaching the consumer” commented an ACG member at the event.
Other ACG events and training days are listed on the ACG website: Events
