Yesterday, the Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) launched the first in a new series of seminars for its members, to explore enforcement in different countries.
The first event focused on the United States and looked at how the U.S. and the U.K. protect their borders from counterfeit products.
Over 115 attendees enjoyed presentations from the U.S. Department for Homeland Security, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and UK Border Force. Each enforcement agency explained in more detail about how they identify and balance risk, work with the private sector, deal with international challenges and tackle fake goods trying to cross their borders.
Other country-focused events have been scheduled and as part of their membership, ACG members will have the opportunity to learn more about how rightsholders are protected in countries such as Spain, Italy, Belgium, Bangladesh and Russia.
ACG represents more than 3,000 brands affected by this influx of fakes into the UK and delivers an international network of information, advice and contacts on all aspects of IP protection. Working with Government and law enforcement agencies since 1980, ACG is focused on providing an effective and sustained response to counterfeiting.
Membership with the ACG is the best way to work with government and enforcement bodies to protect your brand. Our Roadshows and training days help you reach out to police, trading standards and border force officers and tell them about your genuine products.
