Manchester United football stadium welcomed around 100 delegates from Trading Standards (TS), HMRC, the Police and Border Force yesterday, when it hosted ACG’s Intellectual Property (IP) Roadshow.
Officers were keen to hear the latest news and updates on IP from; ACG and the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. Electrical Safety First spoke about the dangers of counterfeit electrical products.
Over 40 ACG brand members, as well as Heathrow Border Force, exhibited genuine and counterfeit goods and chatted to enforcement delegates during refreshment breaks, about issues relating to counterfeiting and how brands can work more effectively with enforcement.
Later in the day there were also informative sessions on how to spot a fake, presented by brand protection experts from; MICHAEL KORS, Imperial Brands, P&G, adidas and Manchester United FC.
“The feedback from this event has been fantastic. It was a great networking opportunity for enforcement and the presentations on IP enforcement initiatives given by; Manchester City Council TS, TS North West Intelligence and Stockport MBC TS were very interesting and have ACG full support” commented Alison Statham, ACG Director General.
The next ACG IP Roadshow in May will be held in Glasgow, Scotland. For more information contact ACG on 01494 449165.
