The Anti-Counterfeiting Group (AGC) hosted their first ACG Intellectual Property (IP) Roadshow of 2022. Wednesday 6 July 2022 at the BT Murrayfield’s Stadium in Edinburgh attracted over 120 attendees.
Attendees travelled to Edinburgh to join the ACG and network with fellow officers and IP professional, to enjoy a range of informative IP related presentations and an exhibition with ACG members.
The presentations started with a welcome speech by ACG Director General, Phil Lewis and followed with an enforcement update from the ACG’s Intelligence Co-Ordinator. Attendees got an overview on the enforcement actions that ACG does to help its members and enforcement.
The day’s proceedings included presentations from the IPO on Implementing the IP Counter Infringement Strategy along with an update on the latest product identification technology from ACG member, VeryifyMe and finally an informative session from another ACG member Jaguar Land Rover, on Automotive Counterfeiting.
Other topics throughout the day included an introduction to the metaverse, NFT’s and associated counterfeits, storage and forfeiture and also an update on prioritising IP enforcement, presented by the Chief Executive Officer of Scotland Trading Standards, Fiona Richardson.
Attendees were also invited to see ‘Spotlight Sessions’ from ACG brand members, Bio-Oil and Treasury Wine Estates allowing them to share with enforcement officers on how to spot a fake for their brand.
The exhibition was filled with ACG members who exhibited genuine and counterfeit products to enable delegates from enforcement agencies such as Border Force, Police and Trading Standards the opportunity to examine goods and speak directly with the brand protection experts.
ACG would like to thank those that took time to participate in this event and to thank this event’s sponsor, Treasury Wine Estates for their support
