Phil Lewis, Director General of the Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) met with John Leyshon, Head of the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) Intelligence Hub last Friday,
Phil and John discussed how ACG and the Hub can build an even closer working relationship. John is keen to explore how the Hub will also be looking for new trends and risks.
Later in the day Phil also met with Megan Heap, who is responsible for developing the IPO’s new enforcement strategy. he meting focused on a wide range of existing and potential issues, affecting brand owners. These included, BREXIT, China’s One Road strategy, the inclusion of economic crime in the prospective Online Harms Bill and the historic issues surrounding storage and destruction of seized goods.
Phil will be meeting with both John and Megan to consider ongoing developments.
