ACG members were able to meet with one of the senior brand protection team members from Pinduoduo (PDD) today for a roundtable discussion regarding their dedication to fighting counterfeit goods being sold online. PDD is China’s second largest e-commerce platforms and was founded in 2015 with over 730million active buyers on their site.
Those that joined in on the discussion got a chance to explore the PDD enforcement division and the steps it takes to prevent counterfeits being sold and bought on the platform, which also includes a comprehensive and multi-layered counterfeit fighting system. They use different proactive measures which are enabled through advanced technologies.
This roundtable gave members the opportunity to raise questions or challenges through ACG, who then shared them with the PDD team ahead of the roundtable. The presentation outlined PDD Intellectual Property Rights Protection platform, what they do to encourage ‘good actors’, the work they do offline and their approach to collaborate with stakeholders. The PDD team were able to provide a comprehensive and thorough response to members questions through their presentation and allowed for a Q&A session at the end.
This event is the third in a series of Protecting Brands Online Roundtables offered free of charge to our members. The next one will be held with eBay on 23 February 2021.
