On Tuesday 6 August Phil Lewis, ACG Director General travelled to Motherwell in Scotland to present Anne Marie Spalding with an ACG Award for excellence in anti-counterfeiting enforcement.
Anne Marie, a Trading Standards officer at North Lanarkshire Council had gone above and beyond in her efforts to develop a joint partnership between North and South Lanarkshire Council's Trading Standards Services and Police Scotland to tackle organised crime. She had also built strong working relationships with many of ACG’s brand members.
“This Highly Commended ACG Award for individual excellence in anti-counterfeiting enforcement is just a small token of appreciation from our members, for her work in fighting intellectual property crime” commented Phil.
“Her grit and determination has resulted in more than £2.5m pounds worth of counterfeit goods being seized in Lanarkshire over the past few years, as well as proceeds of crime applications mounting to in excess of £2.8m. To our members, Anne Marie is a champion.”
