China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was announced in 2013 by President Xi Jinping and has to be the most ambitious infrastructure project ever conceived.
It involves the establishment of maritime trade routes across the globe and investment in infrastructure projects such as new pipelines, ports and railways in countries stretching from East Asia to Europe.
Many view the project as a concerning expansion of China’s rising power and opposition has been growning.
Phil Lewis, ACG's Director General has taken a look at the initiative and reported on China's Ambitious Belt and Road Initiative. To access his report go to our Publications webpage or select An Update to China's Ambitious Belt and Road Initiative.
