To support World Anti-Counterfeiting Day, ACG raised the profile of its fight against fakes by holding a Border Force Training Day at Heathrow yesterday.
Big brands including BMW, Nike, adidas, HP, Levi Strauss & Co., and Abercrombie and Fitch exhibited counterfeit and genuine products and invited enforcement officers from Heathrow Border Force, the Staines Freight Team and local Trading Standards services to visit the exhibits and discuss how to identify whether a branded product is genuine or fake.
“This was a really successful event and highly appropriate on World Anti-Counterfeiting Day. Counterfeiting costs the UK economy alone, £30 Billion a year and has clear links to criminal activities such as; drug trafficking, money laundering, firearms and corruption. ACG are working hard to support Government and law enforcement in tackling counterfeiting and to ensure the voice of business is heard” commented Alison Statham, Director of Operations at ACG.
ACG are hosting other enforcement training events and roadshows during the year. To find out more contact ACG
