Today officers from Border Force at Gatwick airport were joined by global brands at a training event organised by the Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG).
A number of ACG members exhibited at the event including; adidas, Jaguar Land Rover, Liverpool FC, Apple/Beats and Levi Strauss. The brands encouraged enforcement officers to handle genuine and counterfeit products and learn how to 'spot the fake’.
"Border Force officers are key to preventing potentially harmful products entering the UK market. Yet customs resources are being run-down and they're being given increasing and competing priorities. That's why we are here today, to train officers, build upon their knowledge and support them in whatever way we can" explained a Border Force training day attendee.
