Road Haulage Association meet ACG

02 August 2019

RHA meet ACGNearly 90% of all goods transported by land in Great Britain are moved directly by road and the remaining 20% often needs road haulage to complete its journey to and from ports, airports or rail terminals.

Many of the goods transported by road are counterfeit. That’s why Phil Lewis, Director General of the Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) joined the Road Haulage Association (RHA) Security Forum on Wednesday to discuss counterfeiting and the associated threats.

The meeting was attended by several large freight and express courier companies, the Department for Transport and representatives from numerous national enforcement agencies.

“It became clear in the meeting that there were numerous cross overs between freight and cargo crime and counterfeiting.

“Since the meeting, I have been speaking with NAVcis (the Police National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service)” explained Phil.

A meeting with NAVcis will be arranged shortly and is expected to progress collaborative working with members of ACG.
