Trading Standards Scotland (TSS) is the national team for trading standards in Scotland. TSS coordinates and enforces cross-boundary and national casework, as well as undertaking specialist functions to tackle illegal money lending and e-crime.
The team add capacity of local authority trading standards teams and gather and analysis intelligence to identify Level 2 criminal activity (activity that takes place across council and/or national boundaries).
On Tuesday, Phil Lewis Director General of the Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) travelled to Scotland to honour the work of TSS, by presenting an ACG Department Award for Excellence in Anti-Counterfeiting Enforcement.
“ACG fully recognise the resourcing and competing priorities that Trading Standards Scotland meet and overcome on a daily basis. Despite this, the team has driven and developed evidence of criminality and in doing so has protected business, the local economy and the community.
“Working in partnership with ACG members, Trading Standards Scotland built a strong and effective collaborative partnership” Phil commented.
"Congratulations to the team. This ACG award is simply a token of our members' gratitude for all that you do."
