Over 300 Enforcement Officers from across the UK joined the Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) on World Anti-Counterfeiting Day (Tuesday 8 June 2021) for virtual training.
Officers came together from Border Force, Trading Standards and Police to be trained, looking at the theme of EURO 2021 and Olympic 2021 games. Thirteen different ACG brand members provided product updates and shared information to help officers.
This ACG Enforcement Training allowed us to recognise the amazing work being done by enforcement to stop the sale of counterfeit goods, making the world safer for us all and what better way to do that, than to update enforcement on how to stop counterfeits entering the country and how to spot a fake.
ACG member brands directly trained Border Force Officers on the issues of counterfeiting and how best to identify fake products especially with new trends coming in ahead of the Euros and Olympic games. The brands included Manchester United FC, Procter and Gamble, Speedo, Adidas, and The Premier League.
Thank you to all officers who took time out of their busy schedules to join us for the training today.
ACG represents more than 3,000 brands affected by this influx of fakes into the UK and delivers an international network of information, advice and contacts on all aspects of IP protection. Working with Government and law enforcement agencies since 1980, ACG is focused on providing an effective and sustained response to counterfeiting.
Membership with the ACG is the best way to work with government and enforcement bodies to protect your brand. Our Roadshows and training days help you reach out to police, trading standards and border force officers and tell them about your genuine products.
