Suspended sentences for counterfeit clothes set up valued at €3m

09.07.15 - Two men have received suspended jail terms for their part in a counterfeit clothing operation which could have caused a potential loss of €3million to multinational clothing companies. Brothers, Erol and Ali Basak ran the operation from a lock up container in Tallaght, south Dublin.

Blackpool trader sold counterfeit 1D gear

27.06.15 - The director of a Blackpool gift shop has admitted selling fake goods including Betty Boop mugs, Jack Daniels fridge magnets and One Direction bracelets. David Halliday, director of Bowtique Birkenhead Ltd, which has a shop in Victoria Street, appeared beside his partner Alice Hartley in the dock at Preston Crown Court.

Counterfeit goods seller handed community service

22.06.15 - A DARTON man was handed 100 hours of community service for the possession and supply of fake cycling clothing and sunglasses. Lee Thortersen used his website, Facebook and Ebay pages to sell the goods after sourcing them from China. These included many popular cycling brands such as Castelli, Specialized, Sky Rapha, Trek and Giant.
