30.11.16- Leaders from global shipping firms, freight forwarders, brand owners - whose products are counterfeited - and industry organisations representing both industries signed a joint " Declaration of Intent to Prevent the Maritime Transport of Counterfeit Goods " today in Brussels. It marks the first time the global shipping industry and brand owners have made a public commitment to work together to stop the transport of counterfeit goods on shipping vessels.

22.11.16 - The rise of online shopping has bolstered the counterfeit economy, with UK consumers now twice as likely to see fakes on sale online as they were a year ago, according to new data released by the Centre for Economic and Business Research (Cebr) and online brand specialist NetNames.

23.09.16 - Customs authorities across the EU seized an estimated five million more counterfeit items in 2015 than the previous year, according to new figures released today by the European Commission. This means that the number of intercepted goods grew by 15% compared to 2014. More than 40 million products suspected of violating an intellectual property right were detained at the EU's external borders, with a value of nearly €650 million.
