09.01.15 - TWO people must wear electronic tags for four months after they pleaded guilty to selling illegal tobacco. Lynn Phillips, 57, and David Charters, 47, both of Conyers Crescent, Horden, pleaded guilty to selling and possessing counterfeit cigarettes and possessing rolling tobacco, which did not carry the required health warnings on the packaging.

07.01.15 - Two men prosecuted by KCC Trading Standards for selling counterfeit sportswear will have thousands of pounds confiscated. Hanif Patel was jailed for 15 months and Patrick Tucker for 12 months in May 2013, for conspiracy to sell counterfeit goods between August 2010 and May 2012. At confiscation proceedings on January 2 at Maidstone Crown Court, Patel was ordered by Judge Charles Macdonald QC to pay £71,775 plus costs of £13,234.

06.01.15 - Dmitrij Selkov, of Handford Road, Ipswich, is accused of 17 medicine regulation and trademark offences after being charged following a lengthy inquiry, codenamed Clumber. The case is understood to revolve around various prescription drugs being sold over the internet, including abortion medicines.

06.01.15 - A SOUTHAMPTON shop is facing a licence review after almost 200 bottles of illicit alcohol were seized. Customs and trading standards officers swooped on Best-One in St Mary Street last year and seized 196 bottles that were either without duty stamps or had suspected counterfeit labels.
