On Wednesday 24 March 2021, to recognise the years of work he has done to combat counterfeiting, the ACG presented Mike Roylance with an ACG Lifetime Achievement Award for his support of the ACG and the counterfeiting community.

Today the Anti-Counterfeiting Group hosted its third online fireside chat. This time with retired Professional Lead at Powys Trading Standards, Clive Jones and was a great way to finish off a busy week. Clive, who has spent most of his time trying to combat illicit crime, reminisced about his career working at Powys County Council Trading Standards.

Yesterday ACG members got a chance to meet with eBay’s Global Brand Relations Senior Manager for a roundtable discussion about what they do to protect consumers through their polices and user agreements that help to combat the sale of infringing items. A fantastic turn out from members who joined in on the discussion with eBay who have 1.7 million live listings, 185 million active buyers and 19 million sellers on their e-commerce selling site that focus on consumer-to-consumer and business-to-consumer sales through its website.

Amazon met with ACG members today for a roundtable discussion about their most recent features and new initiatives helping our members protect their intellectual property (IP). A fantastic turn out of more than 60 delegates joined in on the discussion and got to meet the team of experts and what goes on behind the scenes of the e-commerce selling site.

The Anti-Counterfeiting (ACG) Director General Phil Lewis attended the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Illicit Trade Meeting yesterday. Counterfeited goods make up the largest value of illicit trade, which robs the local economy of jobs and economic growth with funds going to organised crime groups and putting consumers at risk when buying potentially unsafe and ineffective products.

Another series of online training for UK Border Force Officers, organised by the Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) has just been completed. This time well over 200 officers were updated on how to identify branded products.

The Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) combines the knowledge and expertise of its members through working groups to achieve specific goals. The Online Counterfeiting Working Group (OWG) is one of three active working groups and focuses on discussing online enforcement and the activities which affects the interests of ACG members.
